Music
Music resonates along the corridors to the classroom the moment you step foot in Manor Primary School. A high quality music curriculum that engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of music, which knows no boundaries of language, race or background.
Delve into the curriculum, from Nursery to Year 6, to see how the universal language embodies one of the highest forms of creativity amongst all our children. At Manor, we believe music echoes through the heart of each child, filling them with self-belief and confidence in their own abilities. The curriculum provides them with opportunities to develop flair across a range of genres and styles covering historically important composers and modern day songs. As pupils progress, they develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to explore, compose and develop their talent as musicians.
Using a wide range of instruments across the school, allows the children to understand how sounds are made and organised into musical structures – helping them form their own judgements about the quality of music. Music at Manor brings together young people through the shared endeavour of whole school singing, ensemble playing, experimenting with the creative process and through the love of feeling part of a community. It allows for the progression in reading and writing musical notation, the exploration and enjoyment of song and the performance and appreciation when composing music from an early age.
